33-34 WEEKS PREGNANT | cloth diapers + coffee obsession

Is it normal for time to be moving incredible fast + slow at the same time?

I feel like I’ve been pregnant for two years… but I also don’t know how the past seven and a half months has sped past so quickly?

—-baby Chamberlain—-

33weeksfruit 34 weeks

At 33 weeks, baby is the size of a pineapple. Over next four weeks, baby will put on another half pound per week. (eeek!!). The rapid weight gain will slow by next month.

At 34 weeks, baby is the size of a cantaloupe. Vernix is becoming much thicker as lanugo continues to shed.

 

—-life update—-

Tom and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary on 29 July! We had a great relaxing day exploring Southsea and walking the seafront.

We also had our maternity photography session at a wheat field in Fareham, UK. It was a gorgeous, breezy evening! I will be uploading a vlog of that once I receive some high-def files of a couple of the pictures to add 🙂

I have been thoroughly enjoying getting out of the house and going to lots of mummy/baby meetups! There are so many mummies and mummies-to-be in our group. Lots of new squishes to cuddle.

I recently saw my friend who just had twins (naturally I might add!)

 

—-supplements—-

I’m taking the same supplements, but drinking less dandelion leaf tea as the milk thistle on it’s own combined with more walking and water intake has helped swelling. Yay for that!

 

—-symptoms—-

My left hip has been hurting quite a bit after I lay down for the night. When I get up to go to the bathroom (tmi but in pregnancy, it’s the most normal thing you do) in the middle of the night, I genuinely feel like an 80 year old woman. It also takes me a bit to work the stiffness out of my hips, back and legs in the morning.

I’m definitely going to need to stay active and make sure I do some prenatal yoga + stretching videos between now and baby time!

 

—-movements—-

YEP! At this point, baby’s sleep cycles are established and will continue with the same cycles after birth. It’s been fun knowing the time of day he will be awake! Although I notice he is so active when I’m going to bed and some throughout the night, but that’s to be expected of course.

Baby’s movements are definitely getting stronger and the sporatic and rolling ones that last for a long time definitely take me by surprise.

 

—-cravings—-

oikosBesides the usual iced latte (mouth watering!) and more recently a Blended Dirty Chai Latte (chai tea latte + shot of espresso + ice blended like a smoothie), I’ve been eating lots of greek yogurt. I have a large scoop in my smoothie each morning. I also like Oikos single serving containers with fruit. Strawberry flavour is my favourite!

 

 

—-baby’s position—-

He’s been rotating between posterior and on my right side. I was doing daily inversions which is supposed to help loosen the ligaments in your pelvis and as a myofascial release. I’ve also been spending most of my time at home sitting and rocking on my birth ball.

Since the swelling has been a lot better, I haven’t needed to lay on my back to elevate my legs which I think has helped him stay more on my side.

 

—-stretch marks—-

I haven’t noticed any new stretch marks! I still have a stretch-mark free belly! I think I may have a couple light ones on my hips that I noticed a couple months ago, but sometimes I can’t really see them and think I’m making it up (that would be nice!)

 

—feelings—

It’s been a strange couple weeks for sure…

As mentioned above, I don’t know how to get my head around the passing of time. I’m getting more and more ready to have my more-mobile/less achy body back, but am enjoying the pregnancy.

But at the same time, I feel like each week marks off such valuable and cushioned time, that eventually I’m going to be 38, 39, 40, 41, 42? weeks and everyday could be the “baby day”!

That is surreal…

 

—-pregnancy recommendations—-

IMG_20140805_121522I have been loving my pregnancy journal from when I first got it around 12 weeks. I was recommended by a friend to get one and I’m so glad I did! I have went through stages where I was 6 weeks behind and had to update it and considered not doing it anymore, but I’m glad I’ve continued!

I was reading through it yesterday and was laughing and smiling so much.

There are some really sweet and sentimental pages that I’ll be glad I have a record of.

This is the one I bought.
